Perla's Seasoned Couscous
DESCRIPTION
INGREDIENTS
- 12 oz couscous (1 box)
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric
- pepper ( to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon mace
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups water (lukewarm)
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a bowl pour the couscous, stir in the spices, drizzle the oil and add the water. Gently knead the couscous, detaching the grains, cover with a wet towel and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Remove towel and fluff couscous with a fork.
- Before serving it, bring 2 to 3 cups of water (or chicken, meat or vegetable broth) to a boil and pour over the couscous. Serve hot.
