Congratulations to our Thanksgiving Recipe Xchange Winner, or should I say, winners. This was the first annual recipe exchange for me. The purpose was to get to know you better and strengthen the bond within our Kosher Cowboy community.
The rules were simple: 1) submit your favorite recipe and 2) include a picture. I would then go through them and pick a winner. As a result, the winner would receive a $25 Amazon gift card and I would publish their recipe and share it with our Kosher Cowboy community.
Anticipation
So with my expectations kept in check, I just hoped that someone would play along with me and submit a recipe. One day passed and I received nothing. Day 2 came and went. I was losing hope. Trying to remain optimistic, Day 3 proved less promising. With expectations at a low on Day 4, I unexpectedly received a recipe from England. Then a few hours later, a recipe from Panama. That evening, I received another 5 recipes from around the US. The following days were the same. It didn't slow down until the deadline to submit. I was overwhelmed and grateful. Appropriate, considering the next day was Thanksgiving.
The day after, I started going through all the recipes that were submitted for this first Thanksgiving Recipe Xchange. The recipes came from all around the world. Your submissions looked delicious, refreshing and some, even intriguing. They were unique and inspiring. Just as awesome were the stories, history and culture you shared with me.
I am truly grateful for the outpour of recipes and back stories that accompanied them. Thank you for sharing with me. I'm humbled.
In keeping with the spirit of Thanksgiving, and as today is #givingtuesday, instead of one winner, I've decided to extend the prize to the Top 3 recipes and award each one.
Thank you again and congratulations to our first annual Thanksgiving Recipe Xchange winners.
