DESCRIPTION

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 box couscous (5.8 oz box)
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp mace
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Pour the couscous into a large bowl, add pepper, salt, turmeric, mace and oil and mix thoroughly. Cover the couscous with water and gently "knead" it with your hands to separate the grains.
  • Cover and set aside for 30 minutes or until the water is absorbed. (If the grains are still hard, add a little more water and set aside.)
  • Optional: Before serving the couscous, bring 1 cup of water to boil and dissolve a meat or chicken bouillon cube to make a broth that you pour over it.  Serve warm.
