DESCRIPTION
Hershey’s Chocolate Cake is our favorite homemade chocolate cake recipe! Extra moist, with a perfect rich chocolate flavor and tender, smooth crumb.
INGREDIENTS
Dry ingredients
- 1¾ cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- ¾ cup Hershey's Cocoa Powder
- 2 tbsp vanillin sugar
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- 1½ tsp baking powder
Wet ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup oil
- 1 cup orange juice (or almond milk)
- 2 tsp coffee (dissolved in 1 cup hot water)
Glaze
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp oil
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 1 cup confectioner’s sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix together all dry ingredients.
- Beat in all wet ingredients for 2 minutes.
- Pour into a greased 9″ x 13″ pan or 28 cupcake pan (lined with cupcake holders if desired).
- for cake: Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Insert toothpick in middle at 50 minutes and remove it. If clean, remove cake. If not clean, continue baking for 10 more minutes.for cupcakes: Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
- Glaze: mix all glaze ingredients, top over cake (cupcakes) and refrigerate.
