Foolproof Sponge Cake
DESCRIPTION
This easy recipe is hard to beat for a quick foolproof dessert. It’s light, fragrant and easy to make.
INGREDIENTS
- 6 large eggs
- 1-1/3 cups sugar
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1-2/3 cups flour
- 7/8 cup oil
- 3/8 cup seltzer water
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp vanillin sugar (heaping)
- 1 tsp baking powder
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat eggs for 10 minutes.
- Slowly mix in sugar and then flour.
- Mix in remaining ingredients.
- Pour batter into an 18″ loaf pan. Sprinkle with cocoa powder.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden.
