DESCRIPTION

A great and healthy recipe, by Julia at theroastedroot, that makes great use of chickpeas, transforming them into a healthy chocolate brownie dessert.

INGREDIENTS
 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 14- ounce can chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup raw cacao powder
  • 2/3 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tablespoons full-fat canned coconut milk or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon coffee grinds*
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS
 

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a 9" x 9" pan with parchement paper (or lightly oil it).
  • Add all ingredients for the brownies to a blender and blend until completely smooth.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 24 to 26 minutes or until brownies test clean.
  • Allow brownies to cool at least 20 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

RECIPE NOTES *You can use instant coffee or leave this ingredient out altogether
