- 1 tspn lemon zest (optional)

- Bake in preheated oven 20-30 minutes or until Mona has a nice golden color.

Hi there ! 🙂
I'll just add a little clarification : Mona is not a brioche of Algerian origin but Spanish ! It's the "Mona de Pascua", a Spanish brioche which was undoubtedly introduced to Algeria by the pieds-noirs 🙂
Have a nice day,
From France.

Hi Sarah,
Thank you so much for your input and clarification! 😊
You’re absolutely right—the "Mona de Pascua" is indeed a traditional Spanish brioche. It’s fascinating how culinary traditions travel and evolve. The connection between Spain and Algeria through the pieds-noirs is an important part of this bread’s history. I appreciate you pointing that out!
I’ll make sure to update my blog to reflect its Spanish origins while acknowledging how it has become part of Algerian cuisine as well.
Thanks again for your contribution, and have a great day!
Best regards,
KC
