Traditional Moroccan Mint Tea
DESCRIPTION
Perfect Moroccan mint tea for two.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 teaspoon green tea leaf (usually a strong Chinese tea, e.g., gunpowder or Chun Mee)
- 2 cups water (boiling)
- 2 sprigs mint leaves (rinsed)
- 5 teaspoon sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a teapot, combine two teaspoons of tea-leaf with 2 cups of boiling water. Allow it to steep for at least 15 minutes.
- Without stirring, filter the mixture into a stainless steel pot, so that the tea leaves and coarse powder are removed.
- Add sugar (about 2 ½ teaspoon per cup).
- Bring to boil over a medium heat (this helps the sugar dissolve).
- Fresh mint leaves can be added to the teapot, or directly to the cup.
