Perla’s Seasoned Couscous

DESCRIPTION

INGREDIENTS
 

  • 12 oz couscous (1 box)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • pepper ( to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp mace
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups water (lukewarm)

INSTRUCTIONS
 

  • In a bowl pour the couscous, stir in the spices, drizzle the oil and add the water. Gently knead the couscous, detaching the grains, cover with a wet towel and set aside for 30 minutes. 
  • Remove towel and fluff couscous with a fork. 
  • Before serving it, bring 2 to 3 cups of water (or chicken, meat or vegetable broth) to a boil and pour over the couscous. Serve hot.
